10 Herbs that are effective in Ayurvedic treatment of Gas and Acidity

Ayurveda plays a very important role to deal with the issues of Gas Formation and Hyperacidity. It balances the Pitta dosha which is responsible for such problems. Various traditional herbs have been made use for treating these conditions.

  1. Yashtimadhu

Yashtimadhu is an Ayurvedic herb used to treat a variety of symptoms such as gas and acidity. The medicinal herb helps in the reduction of the gastric secretion of the acid reflux thus easing the pain and other discomfort occurring in the stomach lining. Pudina helps in the easy digestion of the food by enzymes. It is enriched with antioxidants, menthol, and phytonutrients. It calms the stomach cramping as well as prevents flatulence and acidity. It also aids in the process of digestion and relieves gastric discomfort due to its antispasmodic and carminative properties. Even the leaves of Pudina help in reduction of bloating and indigestion.

The seeds of the Ayurvedic herb of fennel relax the muscles of the intestines, which removes gas and acidity.
