Hyperacidity is a condition in which the stomach produces excess acid, causing a burning sensation that starts in the abdomen and rises up through the chest. Most of us take antacids every now and then but these will not resolve the issue from the root. By taking proper treatment, one can get rid of hyperacidity and enjoy life to the fullest.

What is Hyperacidity?

Hyperacidity is a medical condition in which the stomach secretes excessive hydrochloric acid (HCl), which is required to digest our food. Our stomach is protected by a lining that prevents the stomach muscles from coming into contact with the acid. But when too much acid is released, it erodes the lining and harms the stomach muscles, leading to a burning sensation. The condition is generally triggered by unhealthy eating habits, stressful lifestyle, lack of sleep, fasting and many other factors. When acidity symptoms occur more than twice a week, it may lead to Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
