Our life turns upside-down especially when such pain develops in the neck, shoulder, low back, knee or heel. What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent chronic disorder involving the joints. It is also called degenerative joints as it is often caused by the wear and tear on a joint over a lifetime. It occurs when the cartilage that cushions the ends of bones in your joints gradually deteriorates. However, with progress of age and extensive use of joints, often with wrong postures or burdened with obesity, the cartilage gets damaged and starts to wear completely. As a consequence, the bone gets unprotected and it causes extremely painful joints. Although most commonly seen in the elderly, Osteoarthritis can take hold of the human body at any age. Staying active, maintaining a healthy weight and proper treatment might improve pain and joint function and lower the risk of osteoarthritis.
