Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent chronic disorder involving the joints. It is also called Degenerative Arthritis as it is related to the ageing process. In a healthy person, joint surface is covered with cartilage, which provides padding in it thereby acting as a smooth cushioning material inside joints and preventing bones from rubbing together. However, with progress of age and extensive use of joints, often with wrong postures or burdened with obesity, the cartilage gets damaged and starts to wear out completely; leaving the bone ends unprotected and causing painful joints. Joints that carry the body's weight are most likely to develop Osteoarthritis. Most commonly affected joints are knee joints and vertebral joints mainly in the neck and lower back. Osteoarthritis occasionally can be found in multiple members of the same family, implying a genetic basis for this condition. Rarely, some of these hereditary cases of Osteoarthritis are caused by defects in collagen, which is an important component of cartilage. Treatment depends on the specific underlying cause. Nowadays, most available treatments address acute flare-ups, but ignore chronic or longstanding issues. Moreover, overuse of painkillers can lead to serious side effects. For severely damaged joints, surgery is often advised. However, effective solution has been achieved through Fundamentals of Ayurveda, Unani and Therapeutic Yoga which is completely safe and natural. 'Naturoveda Health World' successfully employs the unique combination of these three systems to provide long-lasting results non-surgically and without any adverse effect.
