Infertility refers to the condition when a couple is unable to conceive despite having frequent, unprotected sexual intercourse for a year or longer. When the inability is on the part of the male to cause pregnancy in a fertile female, it is known as Male Infertility. Almost 40-50% of all human infertility cases involve Male Infertility. This usually results from various deficiencies in the semen, like low sperm production, abnormal sperm function or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. Psychological reasons include stress, strain and performance anxiety, illnesses, injuries, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices and other factors also play a role in causing Male Infertility. Though men continue to produce sperm throughout their life but the motility and the morphology of their sperm begin to decline with age. This greatly reduces the likelihood of fertilisation of an egg.
