Excessive Gas Formation

Gas forms when bacteria in colon ferment the foods that are not digested in the small intestine. Unfortunately, healthy high-fibre foods are often the worst offenders. Foods that commonly lead to formation of gas while being digested include some fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, peas, etc. Carbonated beverages like soda and beer also cause excessive gas formation. Too much gas formation can lead to sharp abdominal pains, cramps or intense bloating of the abdomen. This can affect anyone at any age. All people experience this problem during their lifetime.
